1. This is an example of a great depth of field. Great depth of field is when everything in the photograph is in focus. I adjusted the focal length to 18mm to get the girl and the background in frame and to make sure everything was in clear. I adjusted the focal length to 18mm to clearly show the background and set my aperture to f/7.1.
2. This is an example of a photo with a shallow depth of field. Shallow depth of fiel is when there is a specific subject that is the main focus of the photo. The background is blurry with the girl completely in focus. To do this, I increased my focal length to 42mm to minimize the amount of background visible.
3. This is an example of a picture using motion. Everything in the photograph is still except the pinwheel which yo can tell is moving. I zoomed in on the subject to decrease the negative space. In order to capture the movement, the shutter speed had to lowered to 1/100 sec. I made sure everything but the pinwheel was in focus. I decreased the focal length only slightly to keep her face and the pinwheel the main focus. . 4. This is a freeze frame photograph. Free frame is when everything in the photo papers to be still or "frozen" in time. I increased the shutter speed so the photo would come out as clear as possible. I decreased the focal length even more to 36mm to give a slightly different look to the photo.
